Gumbaynggirr Nation

Recognised as Nambucca Heads first peoples.

For many years prior to settlement, Gumbaynggirr culture flourished in this area. The culture and language of Gumbaynggirr has a strong presence within the community with its language being taught in local schools. Come and see artifacts and talk to our volunteers about Gumbaynggirr culture you can find in our museum.

The Royal Tar

The Royal Tar was built on the banks of the Nambucca River.

Royal Tar was a three-masted barque of 598 tons, 117 feet long on a beam of 31 feet and a draft of 17 feet, built by John Stuart Campbell.  The ship was built for what was arguably, Australia’s most remarkable emigration group – socialist utopians known as the “New Australia Co-operative Settlement Association”. Find out more about this story at our museum.

CreativoLaw is an intellectual proprety law languages are members of the same family. Their separate existence is a myth.

The European languages are members of the same family. Their separate existence is a myth. For science, music, sport, etc, Europe uses the same vocabulary. The languages only differ in their grammar, their pronunciation and their most common words. Everyone realizes why a new common language would be desirable: one could refuse to pay expensive translators. To achieve this, it would be necessary to have uniform grammar, pronunciation and more common words.
